Tinsley Towers (2012) - Original Painting

125.00

40cm x 80cm
Acrylic and Spray Painting on OSB.

A painting I had been meaning to do for a few years... in memory of the Tinsley Towers. There's definitely something missing now as you drive long that stretch of the M1.

The painting is unframed, but is ready to hang. Supports are attached to the rear, which project the painting off the wall by about an inch, providing a nice shadow around the work (see second image).

Why OSB?

Artwork using spray paint looks great on walls, but often they can look a bit flat when transferred onto canvas. The natural (well, man made!) texture of OSB really adds something to these paintings and gives them a great street look!

These wood paintings on OSB are always a talking point and will make a great addition for any art collection.

British Landscape

I'm often inspired by the landscapes around me, whether natural or man-made. I'm based in Yorkshire and the local area provides most of this inspiration, but other favourite places from my travels include Cornwall, Edinburgh and London. By using stencilled versions of my sketches, I hope to translate the locations into a kind of logo or motif that allows the viewer to focus on the subject and see them as a landmark.

Stencilled images are often used by graffiti artists to convey a political message or an ideal, and I guess I'm trying to do the same thing; only my message is more about looking around every once in a while to spot the landmarks in your life and enjoy them.

“Life moves pretty fast, if you don’t stop to look around once in a while, you could miss it”
